The vision of First Things First is to help Arizona’s young children be ready for school and set for life. Supporting literacy and language development has been identified by many regional councils as important for promoting school readiness. Such endeavors, in turn, are often considered in the context of efforts aimed at promoting native language and culture preservation in local communities.
