Home Visitation

WHO IT’S FOR:

  • Families with young children (birth to age 5)
  • New and expectant parents
  • Teen parents
  • Grandparents raising grandchildren

WHY IT MATTERS:

You are your child’s first and best teacher. Starting from birth, having a close, positive relationship with parents and primary caregivers makes a huge impact on a child’s future. Home visitation programs can support you and your family to be healthy, strong and thriving.

WHAT IT IS:

First Things First supports free home visitation programs across Arizona that provide personalized, in-home support for expectant mothers and families with children birth to age 5. A trained home visitor will work with you, in the convenience of your own home, to:

  • Support you in promoting your child’s healthy development and school readiness
  • Build positive parenting knowledge and skills
  • Promote overall family well-being
  • Provide resources and referrals to community services

Regular home visits are made over a period of months or years and services are responsive to you and your family’s needs.

There are different types of programs to respond to diverse families and communities. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about home visitation, use the Find Programs tool below to see what programs are available near you or connect with Strong Families Arizona. If you’re in Maricopa County, you can also reach out to Parents Partners Plus.
