Information and inspiration for parents and caregivers of babies, toddlers and preschoolers

New video series helps spark connections for parents between developmental milestones and pediatric visits

Sparks videos

Is this normal? Should my child be sharing by now? When can I start my baby on solid foods?

As a parent, it’s completely normal for your mind to swim with questions about your baby, toddler or preschooler. First Things First is here to help and has partnered with Zero to Three to share a new parent video series created by the Mount Sinai Parenting Center, Zero to Three and the Brazelton Touchpoints Center.

The series features videos that are paired to be viewed before key visits to the pediatrician, such as the 2-month visit, 6-month visit and 12-month visit. Each video shares information related to these specific ages, including behavior, development, nutrition, safety and common medical questions.

The Sparks videos live on the corresponding Ages & Stages pages on the First Things First website, which highlight developmental milestones (what most children can do by a certain age). These milestones offer important clues about your child’s social and emotional, language and communication, cognitive and physical development and can help parents understand what to expect during the first five years.

Visit Ages and Stages to learn more and see the newly added Sparks videos.
